Set above Palma in the quiet residential neighbourhood of Bonanova, this contemporary villa enjoys sweeping views across the bay. Designed by architect Claudio Hernández Alcover for Pecunia Invest S.A. and completed in 2023, the house combines natural light, privacy and a direct connection to the garden. Its elevated position offers a sense of retreat while keeping the city close at hand. The rooms are designed for everyday living, with space to gather as well as places to spend time alone.
Low, horizontal volumes, continuous exposed timber beams and travertine define the architecture. The stone runs from the interiors into the garden, creating a consistent finish inside and out. Full-height, black-framed glazing opens the main rooms to the outdoors, with views of the bay from almost every space. Timber and natural stone bring warmth to the clean lines. The restrained palette gives the rooms a calm feel and keeps the focus on the views and changing light.
The living room features a C. Bechstein grand piano beneath the exposed beams and a marble fireplace with a large abstract sculpture above it. In the kitchen, an island of dark Italian marble is the centrepiece. The kitchen opens to the dining area, which leads to a planted courtyard arranged around a central stone fountain with multiple spouts. The arrangement keeps the kitchen, dining area and courtyard closely connected, with an easy flow between them. Art and decorative objects have been carefully chosen for the house.
There are four en-suite bedrooms, a separate guest apartment and an additional WC. The separate apartment gives guests more independence during their stay. A dedicated gym and a home office with direct bay views provide space for exercise and work. The lower level houses a wine cellar and a billiards room. The layout gives family and guests their own space, alongside rooms for work and leisure. The house is finished to a high standard and has security systems in place.
Outside, a large terrace with sea views offers room to relax and spend time with guests. The long private pool is framed by olive trees, palms and grasses, with the Bay of Palma beyond. Covered outdoor living areas and the courtyard around the fountain provide further places to sit, while a path through ornamental grasses leads through the garden. The different outdoor spaces suit both entertaining and quieter moments, with privacy throughout the house and grounds. From the pool to the fountain courtyard, each outdoor area has a different character.
Bonanova is an established residential area within easy reach of Palma’s amenities. Queens College is a three-minute walk away and Bellver Park is nearby. Porto Pi and the Paseo Marítimo are a short drive, and other international schools are easily accessible. The airport is approximately twenty minutes away by car. It is a convenient setting for a private family home close to the city and the sea.
